Event Theme: The Wisdom Within: Listening to What Has Always Been Inside

Every person carries a lifetime of experiences, intuition, and untapped understanding. Too often, the noise of the world drowns out the quiet wisdom already living within us.

This year’s TEDxBillings theme explores the power of self-discovery, reflection, and authenticity. Through inspiring stories and thought-provoking ideas, our speakers will challenge us to trust our inner compass, embrace our lived experiences, and recognize that some of life’s greatest lessons have been with us all along.

Sometimes the answers we seek aren’t waiting to be found, they’re waiting to be heard.

THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING TEDxBILLINGSYouth 2026

Thank You for an Incredible TEDxBillingsYouth Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural TEDxBillingsYouth event. What an inspiring day of ideas, creativity, and leadership from the next generation of our community.

We are incredibly proud of the students in grades 8–12 who took the stage as speakers, performers, and organizers. Their courage, talent, and vision reminded us all that great ideas have no age limit.

A special thank you to our student planning team, School District 2, our partners, volunteers, families, educators, and attendees who helped make this event possible. Your support created a platform where young voices could be heard, celebrated, and empowered.

TEDxBillingsYouth was more than an event, it was a glimpse into the future of our community.

Thank you for being part of this historic first chapter.

“No one wants to work anymore.” Entrepreneur Jessica Drain believes otherwise—instead it’s that businesses aren’t structuring jobs to attract and retain the widest number of people possible, including those with a limited number of hours to give to a career.

Speaking about her own experience as a single mother and professional, Jessica delineates how she’s grown a seven-figure business in part-time hours with a small team of part-time employees, and how recent research shows that jobs with lower hour requirements improve employee recruitment, retention, and productivity – not the other way around.

In 2018, she and her sister innovated a new tool for the sewing world – SewTites® Magnetic Sewing Pins™ – and founded a company with the same name. Since then, Jessica has led the company to a 7-figure annual business – all in part-time hours with a small team of part-time employees.

A single mom of two children with primary custody, she is passionate about finding value in and creating work for people who don’t have the desire or ability to work full-time hours but still want and need to earn a living.

In a world that might seem like it’s falling to pieces around us, is there still hope for democracy? Sharon McMahon contends that there is, and that there is a path forward through division and hate. Listen to see how history brings us hope. After years of serving as a high school government and law teacher, Sharon McMahon has amassed an audience of more than a million people, who rely on her for non-partisan, fact-based information. In a time where flashy headlines and false information often take the spotlight, Sharon is a reliable source for truth and logic.

Sharon is the author of The Small and the Mighty, the host of the award-winning podcast, Here’s Where It Gets Interesting, and the founder of The Preamble, a newsletter about politics and history.
